The wattle (2008)

The wickerwork as such, with its shape and interpretations, represents a richest fount of opportunities. Following the rhythm and plasticity of the wattle, the shape being organic itself fills with life as if giving birth to a self-sufficient being. It awakens your imagination and makes you experience the suddenly born images: stream, wave, wing, book, road.

It seems logical and natural that in the everyday purposes of the wattle (fences, sheds, fishing baskets) and in its different interpretation (an art object) we can find the three basic elements involved – Earth, Air, and Water. Turning up earth, the wattle rises into the air and rushes towards the sky on the one hand, and on the other – it embraces a tree and outlines the water contours.
